In 2016 we added a small pollinator habitat adjacent to our new planting of blueberries. We did this recognizing that blueberries depend on bumble bees for pollination and also because we are aware of the severe decline in not just pollinators, but all insect species. Over time the small 10'x20' plot has seeded its way to cover over 1/4 acre. Our farm has quite a bit of open prairie, but we will continue to seed native wildflowers within the tall grass to provide habitat for all of our beneficial insects.
